Regular Texture (Popcorn Stiple)

Popcorn stiple was the most common ceiling texture in the past but many people are now having it scraped off and replaced with knock-down or splatter ceiling texture. Popcorn Stiple is the best texture to cover up a less than perfect tape job as it hides many imperfections.

Pre Texture Ceiling preperation - Do not sand the walls a foot from the ceiling. Tape must be applied to prevent overspray and a sanded wall angle will prevent the tape from sticking. The tape job should be decent quality creating a perfectly flat ceiling free of ridges and most imperfections.

Splatter Ceiling Texture

'Splatter' is the second most common ceiling texture.
